Benefits of Castor Oil Packs on the Breasts

Every year around this time in October, I do my yearly breast check in.  I get my smash and glide.  Or that’s how I describe it to my husband.  Because I have dense tissue or fibroglandular tissue, I am asked to do both a mammogram (smash) and ultrasound (glide) screening.

When speaking with the technician upon arrival I was asked if I had any changes to the tissue or areas of concern and it got me thinking….. When was the last time I did my breast massages? Did I know what was going on with my girls?

After I was cleared to leave with all good marks, I made a promise to myself. I would give my breast more care and attention.  I am a LMT after all !!!   I work with ladies (clients) all the time and preach lymphatic massage, dry brushing, guasha and the benefits of self-care.

In this article, I’m going to share with you one of my newest self-care ritual additions……  Castor Oil Breast Pack.

Reasons Why you Might Want to Use A Castor Oil Pack for your Breast

  • Painful breast
  • Abnormal breast tissue
  • Swelling
  • Density
  • Lymphatic impairment
  • Scar recovery after surgery
  • Enhance circulation – providing fresh oxygen and nutrients

Why Castor Oil Packs?

The use of castor oil as a medicinal oil has been around for thousands of years.  The  density of the oil when applied to an area and gently compressed into the skin and gentle heat can penetrate into the tissue.

The benefits of using castor oil aren’t just anecdotal.  There are some actual factual scientific studies.  If you want to get into the weeds of the research, check out this article from Journal of Naturopathic Medicine.  I found it fascinating and appreciated seeing their exact protocol.

Castor oil , improves blood flow, is anti-inflammatory, aids in lymphatic drainage, helps detoxify breast tissue, supports shrinking and healing of benign masses and swellings, including cysts and growths.

More and more naturopathic and functional medicine doctors are recommending castor oil packs to their patients for a multitude of reasons.

How To Do A Castor Oil Breast Pack?

I’m no stranger to castor oil packs.  I’ve used them for liver detox, period pain and digestive discomfort.  But never for the breasts until now.  Here is a link to my previous post where I talk about gut health and castor oil packs.  There is also a DIY recipe and product links to materials.

I love a good D.I.Y.  but it’s hard to beat the ease of using a castor oil pack from Queen of Thrones.  If you are more of a petite frame the Liver Pack should do you well.  If you have a larger chest, you might consider  the Pelvic Pack. They now have packs specifically for the breast. Check them out Castor Oil Packs for Breasts I definitely recommend you checking out the dimensions to find your right fit.

Like with most things, the more consistent you are, the more likely to see the benefits. I recommend using your castor oil breast pack 2 to 3 times a week. If you can, EVERY NIGHT for the win !!!! Your “girls” will thank you.

If you have a dry brushing routine going, make sure you pay attention to the breast tissue as well. Instead of taking a shower directly after your dry brushing, take an extra 15 – 30 min. on resting with your castor oil breast pack and a warm compress.

I hope you learned something new that you can implement into your holistic self-care journey. And as always, My wish for you is that you find more moments for JOY.
